About

I am an Associate Professor of Print Media and Drawing at Cornell University and also the co-founder of the Ink Shop Printmaking Center/Olive Branch Press in Ithaca, New York. My work explores horticultural documentation reflecting science, location, and sustainability. I have exhibited nationally and internationally in venues including the He Xiangning Art Museum, Shenzhen, China and Gallery Ami – Kanoko, Osaka, Japan. My work is included in permanent collections in museums such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and The Museum of Fine Arts in San Francisco.

My projects titled Motifs from My Back Yard and Motifs from the Global Back Yard are part of a continued use of horticultural forms as motif. These projects include site visits to many places including the Cornell Botanic Gardens. As a professor, my relationship with Cornell Botanic Gardens has been over many years, working in collaboration with many of the horticulturalists and directors on numerous projects linked directly with my classroom pedagogy. My goal is to ensure students are aware of the Cornell Botanic Gardens and their outstanding work concerning horticulture, the environment, land preservation and sustainability.
