About

I work as a horticulturist at Cornell Botanic Gardens. I started my career at Cornell in summer 2014. I maintain many gardens around the Nevin Welcome Center and in the F.R. Newman Arboretum. Areas that I maintain include, the Bioswale Garden, and the container garden and tropical displays at the welcome center. In the arboretum, I manage the Newman Overlook, the gardens in the native maple collection, and the gardens around Houston Pond.

I have been in the horticulture field for ten years, since completing my bachelor’s from Penn State in landscape contracting. Special interests of mine include ornamental woody and herbaceous plants and landscape design. Also, I have developed a new passion for tropical plants since working with them at the Cornell Botanic Gardens. My favorite season at the gardens is winter. I love to be out in the snow and pruning in the arboretum. The perspective of the arboretum in the winter is truly special, and I encourage all to come see what Cornell Botanic Gardens has to offer each season.
