About

I am the IPM Assistant Horticulturist at the Cornell Botanic Gardens. I work with the IPM Coordinator and other gardeners to scout, diagnose, and treat plant health issues across all areas of the botanic gardens, arboretum, and greenhouse. Additionally, I am responsible for maintaining the DeCoursey Stairs planting, located in the F.R. Newman Arboretum. I hold a co-master’s in entomology and forestry from North Carolina State University, where I studied the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (Adelges tsugae); and a Bachelor of Science in environmental biology from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. I have experience in insect rearing, plant health assessment, invasive species removal, and identification and management of plant pests in ornamental plantings, forests, and greenhouse.
