Howard Greenberg has education and experience in chemical engineering, business, clinical medicine and biopharmaceutical research, clinical pharmacology and pharmacovigilance. As a Clinical Research Unit (CRU) Medical Director, he served as an Investigator of ~150 early phase clinical trials and authored over 50 peer-reviewed papers and dozens of abstracts and poster presentations. More recently, he has focused on Pharmacovigilance and drug safety.

Dr. Greenberg currently is a Medical Safety Officer at Janssen (J&J) in Titusville, NJ. Previously, he was Senior Medical Director of Clinilabs’ 48-bed CRU in NY, a specialty CRO, and Senior Medical Director at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he directed their 60-bed CRU in Hamilton, NJ. Dr. Greenberg is currently Adjunct Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) in Philadelphia, PA, after a decade as full-time faculty and Medical Director of their 24-bed CRU.

Dr. Greenberg received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University, M.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, M.B.A. in Finance and Planning from Drexel University, and M.D. from Jefferson Medical College. He completed training in Internal Medicine at Lankenau Hospital, and Clinical Pharmacology at TJU prior to joining their faculty in 1997.
Dr. Greenberg is board certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology, is a Fellow and past Regent of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology (ACCP), Past-President of the Association of Clinical Pharmacology Units (ACPU) and served on several other professional societies leading committees involving drug development, regulatory science and drug safety.

Howard resides in Yardley, PA with his wife Joanne, a Senior Medical Writer for Merck, and their dog, Bosco. He is an Emeritus Trustee of the Cornell Club of Greater Philadelphia (CCGP), a life member of the Cornell University Council, Co-Chairs the Bucks County Committee of the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN) and serves on the Cornell Botanical Gardens Advisory Board. He is also President of the Board of the Animal Alliance of New Jersey animal shelter and a Director of Men Mentoring Men, a NJ-based men’s group.
