About
My love of plants and awareness of the environment began at a young age, while living and working on my family’s garden center in England for 16 years. I was involved with all factors of the retail nursery and wholesale specialist herb nursery—a lead supplier to local and regional garden centers, including the Sandringham Royal Estate and many historic National Trust sites.
After completing my Master of Arts at the Norwich School of Art & Design, now the Norwich University of the Arts (NUA), I immigrated to Denver, Colorado, where I ran my own graphic-design business and also taught typography at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
Redesigning the Cornell Botanic Gardens logo and implementing a complete organization-wide rebrand during 2017-2018 was a huge personal and professional milestone and something of which I’ll always be proud. It is really gratifying to work with a strong in-house communications team that supports each other on a daily basis.
I’m passionate about applying design knowledge and critical thinking to a cause for greater good. Elevating awareness of the natural world and the need to protect and preserve it is paramount and ever more important in our current climate. Communicating our message with visitors through good design so that they may feel empowered and inspired is an exciting challenge and a task I take to heart.
