Leaves deciduous, upt to 28cm long and 1.3cm wide, upright, strongly ribbed beneath. Peduncle 45-70cm tall. Inflorescence of 20-25 flowers. Insides of the flowers are violet-blue (92A), segmets sometimes recurved, 2.9cm long (tube 1cm), 3.8cm across. Mainly seed propagated since its introduction and so better to regard this as a group of plants that look similar rather than a proper cultivar.
