Introduced in 1908. A beautiful but rare species whose pleasing flowers have 5 or sometimes 6 rounded segments. The outer ones are crimson on the reverse, but all contribute to a rounded pink flower within. The coloring is slightly sharper than in the hybrid Japanese anemones. The leaves are divided into 3 deeply toothed leaflets. Plants 2' tall, 18" wide.
