Description

Herbaceous perennial 25-35cm tall. Leaves 2-ternately divided, sometimes more; leaflets 14x9cm, ovate, pointed, thin, bright red at first, margin spiny-toothed; flowering stem bearing a single leaf. Inflorescence 10-23 flowered, lax; pedicel 1-2cm; flowers 15-25mm across; outer sepals 3-4x1.5-3mm, gray with red spots, inner sepals 10x4-5mm, bright crimson, oblong-lanceolate, spreading; petals 10mm, yellow, slipper-shaped; stamens 4mm.(DS 350, species description) Large, more refined leaves are darker green with more pinkish tones to the flowers. A superior clone to E. xrubrum.
