Description

Geneva' makes a beautiful specimen tree or screen. As a young plant it makes an upright, open shrub with very thick, strong, ascending main branches and short laterals in flat sprays. The leaves are variable in length, 5-12 mm, very broad, flat, variable in shape from lanceolate to oval, with rounded tips. Thebranchlets are thick, mid-brown, and the buds also mid-brown, are large and conspicuous. Grafted plants of `Geneva' are usually narrow for their height, although a specimen at Longwood Gardens, Kennett Square, PA is an exception.
