Description

Ivy-shaped foliage is mahogany-red above, beet-red beneath. Sprays of white flowers are borne in early to mid-summer. Plants to 18" tall (DS 106). Some forms of H. americana with large leaves have been raised at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew from wild provenance. Leaves are reddish-brown above,reddish-beetroot below (DS 100).
