A mushroom-shaped shrub or small tree reaching 13' in height and much more in width; leaves 7-lobed, divided to the leaf base and every lobe finely dissected, summer color a sumptuous green, turning dark yellow with some orange tints in autumn. Origibnally described as A. dissectum by Carl Peter Thunberg in 1784 but not found in the wild. The most common 'Dissectum' seen in gardens is almost always the same clone, but the cultivar sometimes sets seed and seedlings have had this name applied to them.
