Description

Watanabei’ (synonymous with ‘Nanum Semperflorens’) is a compact doublefile viburnum cultivar that typically matures to 4-6’ tall and as wide. White flowers in lace cap form (2-4” wide) continuously bloom from spring to fall season. Individual flowers are slightly smaller than those flowers found on most other doublefile cultivars, but are quite showy. Flowers are followed by bright red fruits. Leaves turn reddish-purple in fall. This cultivar was discovered growing near Mt. Fuji in Japan in the 1950s by Watanabe.
