Description

Shrub or small tree to 2.5m, branches soon glabrous; thorns to 2.5cm. Leaves 5cm, obovate, base cuneate, margins usually with 3, occasionally 5, shallow blunt lobes, lobes serrate, pale green beneath; stipules tapered, irregularly serrate. Flowers 15-18mm, white to pink in corymbs of few to 10 blooms; anthers pink-purple. Fruit 1cm, ovate-globose, deep red; seeds usually 2, occasionally 1-3.
