Description

Shrub or tree reaching 10 m in height with ascending branches, floccose at first, quickly becoming glabrous. Leaves usually nearly orbicular or broadly obovate or elliptic, 7-15 cm long, abruptly acuminate, sparsely dentate on the apical half, dark green above, densely pubescent beneath, the petiole 6-20 mm long. Flowers held in 10-20 cm long nodding racemes, partly hidden by the foliage, fragrant, the corolla deeply 5-lobed, 2 cm long.
