Description
Deciduous tree reaching 6 m in height, although often only a stoloniferous shrub, the twigs gray-yellow, pubescent at first, later olive-brown. Leaves obovate to oblong, 7-12 cm long with 3-6 oblique, uneven lobes on either side, the sinuses running to the midrib, base cuneate to rounded, dull green above, lightgray-green beneath, short-pubescent, the petiole 1-2 cm long. Fruits sessile, acutely ovate, the acorns 1.5-2 cm long, 1/2 enclosed by the cup.
