Loosely and broadly pyramidal when young, of elegant habit, and often feathered with branches to the ground in old age; tends to be more wide-spreading than many pines as it approaches maturity. Needles gray-green, often bent abruptly near the base so the greater part of the needle is pendulous. 50-80' tall under landscape conditions, but can attain 150'; spread is variable. This plant is a selection of a plant growing at the Morton Arboretum in IL.
