Description
From a flowering point of view this is a superlative grass, regularly producing arching sprays of silky, shimmering, pale brownish-pink foliage that resemble that of M. sinensis (DS 100). Much like M. sinensis in size (to 8') and habit, but flowers are silvery white in autumn (DS 163). More free-flowering than the type (DS 109). Inflorescences emerge silver and there is good separation between the top of the foliage and the point on the stems where the flowers begin. Somewhat lax-stemmed and may flop even in full sun (DS 93).
