Description

An extremely hardy geographical variant of the species. Somewhat loose and open in habit, twice as wide as high at maturity, with foliage that turns yellowish-brown in the winter (DS 9). Lower, denser shrub, reaching 25 cm to 60 cm in height; young twigs and leaf petioles somewhat pubescent; leaves ovate to ovate-oblong, 1 cm to 1.8 cm long, side veins indistinct on both sides, margin markedly curved downward (DS 5).
