Description
Greater resistant to anthracnose than the species and after 20 years was the 10th rated tree in the Shade Tree Evaluation Tests at Wooster, OH; supposedly tolerates soil compaction, heat, drought, as well as severe pruning, and is rapid growing. Unfortunately the severe winters of 1976-77 and 1977-78 causedconsiderable injury and laboratory tests have indicated it is very susceptible to 0.5 to 1.0 ppm ozone.
