Description
When mature, a single plant (just 22" high and about 13" wide) yields more than 600 blooms a season. Each flowering stem bears about 80 blooms and the handsome green foliage completely vanishes beneath the radiant canopy of color at the height of bloom season. Each flower is about 2" wide, with a skirt of long, slender, pointed petals beneath a large fuzzy pompon of ruby red to burgundy, flecked with white to cream. The blooms are long-lasting both fresh and dried. 'Venice' was developed in Holland, and like all Astrantia, it is very easy to grow in full sun and well-drained soil.
