Description

Rootstock woody; stems 0.3-1 m high, pubescent, sticky above. Basal leaves ovate-lanceolate to oblong, 7.5-15cm long, rugose dark green, held in a loose rosette. Inflorescence spike-like, scarcely branched; flowers vary in size and shape, commonly violet-blue but also bluish-white, pure white, or pink; June-August blooming.
