Description

Plants range from 5'-12' in height, suckering and developing large colonies. Habit is upright-rounded, foliage is deciduous to semi-evergreen and dense, deep lustrous green, aromatic when crushed; fall color is absent; monoecious although can occasionally be dioecious, flowers not showy, opening before the leaves; fruit about 1/5" across, profuse, grayish, usually covering the stems of female plants.
