Description

Leaves obovate, rounded at the apex and short acuminate, cuneate at the base, with distinctly indented venation above; petiole 1 to 2 mm long (DS 6). Leaves almost sessile, rounded and abruptly acuminate,sometimes almost truncate at the apex, cuneate at base, veins deeply impressed. Autumn color isdescribed as yellow but Dirr observed it to be a good orange-red at the Arnold Arboretum; habit that of alarge, spreading shrub (DS 9).
