Description
Large deciduous shrub or small tree to 4m. Shoots at first pubescent, later glabrous. Leaves 7.5-15x3.75-7.5cm, ovate, acuminate, rounded or sometimes tapered at the base, toothed, sparsely bristly above and on the veins beneath; petioles 1.25-2.5cm. Panicles conical or pyramidal, 15-20cm long and 10-13cm wide at the base; fertile flowers numerous, pure white (DS 695). 'Barbara' was selected for it very large pure white sterile florets each of which can be as large as a hand (DS Kellygreen Nursery).
