Description

A large tree with a rounded crown reaching 15-17 m in height; branches red-brown to gray, bud scales imbricate, young branchlets green turning red in autumn. Leaf buds blackish, leaves deeply 5-lobed, dark green above, glaucous beneath, the young leaves conspicuously red, turning yellow to brown inautumn.
