Description

R. yakushimanum: Densely mounded to 3' in height and width. Foliage is dark green with a woolly indumentum beneath. The flowers are campanulate, bright rose in bud opening to white in full flower, held in 10-flowered trusses. R. smirnowii: Plants 6' to 8' tall and as wide in 15 years. Foliage dark green above with thick woolly tomentum beneath. Flowers rose or rose-pink, the corolla frilled, 1 1/2" long, 2" across, borne in May, held in trusses 5" to 6" wide. Good hardiness.
