Description

To 2 m tall; similar to C. multiflorus, branches long, arching, leaves usually 2-ranked, tough, ovate, usually obtuse, 25-35 mm long, gray-green, pubescent at first, usually soon becoming rather glabrous; flowers 3-12, held in loose, erect inflorescences; fruits red, 7-10 mm long, effective in October. Prolific and showy in fruit; valued ornamental often sold as Cotoneaster multiflorus cv. Calocarpus.
