Description

Tree with upright, spreading branches forming an oval to rounded outline, reaching 40' to 60' in height under most landscape conditions, although it can attain 100' or more; spread equal to or 2/3's of height. Bark reddish brown or grayish, flaking into small rectangular scales, exposing orangish inner bark. Fallcolor a dingy brown, possibly with a tinge of yellow. Flowers perfect, yellowish-green, borne in May in 2" to 4" long pendulous panicles.
