Description
Stems 60-150 cm in height, dark purple with white hairs, and black bulbils in the leaf axils; stem-rooting. Leaves 12-20 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, numerous, lanceolate, scattered, 5-7-veined, the margins rough. Flowers up to 40, held in a raceme, turk's-cap, pendulous, 12.5 cm wide, unscented the tepals recurved when first open, gradually spreading, the interior orange spotted deep purple, the anthers orange-red topurple, the pollen brown, effective from summer into early autumn.
