Description
Prostrate shrub or tree to 30'; needles in fascicles 5, stiff, dark green; cones purplish-brown, ovoid, to3" long (DS 3). Small tree related to P. flexilis from which it differs in its cones which do not open whenripe, and dense, short needles (DS 58).
