The Winter Solstice marks the day when the sun begins its return and the certainty that with it, the plants now dormant will awaken and grow. This promise that the death of winter will be followed by the life-sustaining re-birth of the earth’s plants has been honored for millennia by cultures across the globe.
Learn about the plants associated with Winter Solstice rituals, both ancient and modern, and the stories behind them in this video with Kevin Moss, student and public engagement coordinator.
