Description
Stems c.95cm, erect, freely branching above. Lower stem leaves somewhat withered at anthesis, c.10 x 1.5cm, twice-pinnatisect, the rachis 0.7-1mm wide, untoothed, secondary segments linear, often with a single basal tooth, the terminal segment often trifid; segments slightly overlapping; middle stem leaves similar or with a slightly broader rachis. Capitula in few unseparated corymbs, 3-5cm across; involucre c.4.5 x 3mm, sparsely and weakly hairy, outer bracts slightly carinate, the midrib pale (surrounded green), with brown scarious margins. Ray florets usually 5, ligule c.3.5-4 x 3.5mm, opening salmon-orange 35C/39B, fading through pale yellow to white 158C, flushed pale pink; disc florets opening yellow, fading to white. May require staking.
