Description

Superior horticulturally to C. mas, differing in having attractive exfoliating bark suggestive of a sycamore or stewartia, habit being that of a vase-shaped small tree reaching 30' in height, having a single trunk or a few main trunks close together, flowers being of a better yellow, borne in larger clusters and appearing a few days earlier than those of C. mas.
