Description

Branchlets strongly pilose, needles 1 cm to 2 cm long; cones larger with broader scales (DS 2). Branches knotty, gnarled, wide spreading; twigs densely red-brown pubescent; leaves more or less sickle form, 10 mm to 20 mm long. Cones 15 mm to 20 mm long with 25 to 30 seed scales, exterior densely rust-brown pubescent, tightly closed before ripening, later opening moderately, bract scales somewhat exserted past the seed scales; seeds 2.5 mm long (DS 8).
