Description

A densely pyramidal tree with large leaves that are intermediate between T. americana and T. xeuchlora. Makes a handsome street or lawn tree. Originally listed as a selection of T. xeuchlora, it differs in stem color being gray-brown-maroon above, greenish-brown beneath, and buds being glossy, ovoid, 3/8"long and reddish; the leaves approximate those of T. americana rather than T. xeuchlora in size andcolor.
