Cornell Botanic Gardens provides a learning laboratory for students from a wide variety of disciplines – from horticulture and climate science to poetry and art. Degree-granting programs, internships, specialized symposia, webinars, and the many Cornell courses that actively utilize the Botanic Gardens are examples of how the institution creates knowledge with impact and cultivates the next generation of biocultural guardians. The Botanic Gardens’ programs foster a stewardship ethic that Cornell students manifest into their lives as global citizens.
With Your Support, Cornell Botanic Gardens Will:
- Endow the Director of Education position to provide edification for students, alumni, and visitors
- Endow Curators of Education to support public outreach, youth education, and experiential learning opportunities for Cornell students
- Expand the Master of Professional Studies (MPS) program in Public Garden Leadership, the only program of its kind in the United States and one of only five in the world so more students can become the next generation of professional leaders
- Develop an MPS program in Biocultural Conservation to attract students from across the globe
- Expand those experiential learning initiatives like Learning by Leading leadership development or summer internships to make it possible for more students to learn about sustainable landscapes, horticultural enterprise, and interpreting gardens to public audiences
- Expand outreach to professional colleagues, students, and the public to share groundbreaking biocultural perspectives and approaches
