Plants 20' to 30' tall, 15' to 20' wide, with a distinct, upright-oval outline in youth. Flowers fleecy white, borne in spring; fall color bright yellowish to orange-scarlet. Supposedly less prone to suckering when grafted than other forms; displayed high susceptibility to fireblight in s.e. USA during the 1988 growing season. See DS 773: branches stronger and stiffer that other varieties with great resistance to extreme bending by wind, snow and ice.
