Description

Tall shrub or small tree to 6m. Twigs grey-velvety for first year, then glabrous, red-yellow to brown. Leaves 6-15x0.5-1cm, linear to narrowly lanceolate tapering at base and apex, dark glossy green above, felted-white beneath, entire, or toothed near apex, revolute; petiole to 5mm; stipules absent. Catkins 6x1cm, appearing just before leaves, bracts lanceolate, to 2mm; stamens 2, filaments fused at base; ovary glabrous, tapering toward apex.
