Description

Attractive rounded habit, with almost vase-shaped branching structure and distinct green bloomy stems. The fruits are larger than those of the species, and are a good red. Less susceptible to rust than other hawthorns, although Dirr notes having seen fruits badly infected when foliage showed very little infection; he also notes this could be a hybrid because it does not match the characteristics of the species well.
