Parking
There are two designated accessible parking spots with access aisles located a short distance from the entrance to the welcome center. The path leading from the parking spots to the welcome center is on a gentle grade.
Nevin Welcome Center
This accessible building offers exhibits, a gift shop, light refreshments for sale, restrooms, two classrooms and a conference room.
Entrance
There is approximately 20 feet of pavement from the designated parking lot to the building entrance door, which is designated with an international symbol of access.
Visitor Service Desk
Located 15 feet from the entrance door, the visitor service desk is 36 inches high and the area around it provides ample space for a wheelchair to turn around.
Elevator and Restrooms
The elevator and restrooms are located a short distance from the entrance and both have accessible routes of travel. The men’s and women’s restrooms both offer one stall large enough for wheelchair maneuvering. The sink area also provides space for wheelchair maneuvering.

Stairs: There is one small set of stairs to reach another section of the garden. An alternate route with no stairs is available to reach that section. Another small set of stairs is one of three access points into the garden.

Comstock Knoll and Rhododendron Collection

Grade: The Knoll is a small hill. When the Nevin Welcome Center is open, an elevator provides access to the entry level to a relatively level stone dust path that goes around the perimeter of the Knoll. The grade from the building along the path is gentle. There is an upper level to the Knoll which requires traveling up several stairs on a steep grade.

Pounder Vegetable Garden

Stairs: Two steps are located at the singular entrance to this garden.
Access: In order to access this garden, a visitor must open a latched door
Conifer Slope
Conifer slope is located on a steep hillside, but dirt trails that follow a gentle grade cut through this area.
Kienzle Overlook

Stairs: none present
Access: This area is an overlook with a view of the Botanical Garden. The overlook itself has a relatively flat grade, accessible from a paved road. However, if a visitor wished to access the overlook from the botanical garden without a vehicle, they would be required to travel up a steep trail with a chipped mulch surface.
