Description

Plants 40' to 70' in height, 25' to 35' wide; can attain 100' or more. Softly and gracefully pyramidalin youth with tapering trunk, becoming pendulously pyramidal with age. Bark flaky and scaly on youngtrees, brown, soon with wide, flat ridges; on old trees, heavily and deeply furrowed; freshly cut surfaces showing purplish streaks.
